Development Manager
Location: San Ramon,
CA/Sandy,Utah | Department: Engineering
The Development Manager is part of the Accela software development team
who is responsible for managing the design, development and quality assurance
one or more Accela software products. The Development Manager is focused
on leading his/her development team to deliver timely, high quality software
within defined budgets and schedules.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage a geographically
distributed development team for the design and development of critical
modules of
· Accela’s flagship
product: Accela Automation.
· Manage the complete development
cycle of the product for each product release.
· Work with Marketing,
Product Management and Development to identify new development technologies,
as they
· relate to business
visions, strategies and products.
· Working closely with
product managers and business analysts to design product functional specifications.
· Review designs of team
members for efficiency and adherence to coding, quality, functionality,
performance,
· scalability and
on-time delivery standards.
· Lead, mentor and motivate
team members to maximize their potential, to deliver high quality software
and to take
· pride in their work.
· Interact with customer
service and professional service staffs and customers to help resolve
customer issues.
· Review designs of other
programmers for efficiency and adherence to coding, quality, functionality,
performance, ·
scalability and on-time delivery standards.
· Coordinate cross-product
development efforts, as appropriate.
Required Qualifications
· At least 3 years
of experience managing the development of multi-tiered, web-based software
application.
· Experience in managing
geographically distributed development environment and software outsourcing
partners.
· Strong technical background:
at least 5 years of hands on development experience programming in multiple
· graphical and web-based
development environments using tools such as Java, J2EE, C#, .Net, Java/J2EE,
· Enterprise Java
Beans, Oracle and MS-SQL/Server and programming in these environments.
· Strong project management
skills
· Deep understanding of
software development principles, processes and methodologies.
· Excellent interpersonal
and communication skills.
· Creative problem solving
skills.
· Pay attention to details.
· Methodically drive software
quality.
· Bachelor of Science degree
in computer science or related field of study or equivalent combination
of education
· and experience.
Master of Science is preferred.
Desired Qualifications
· Experience in
developing software for the government market specifically with a focus
on asset management,
· land management,
licensing and permitting.
· Prior experience with
Accela products.
